Classify credit card payments as not an expense

Is there a possibility of Making credit card payments, not charges a negative balance? When I set up my account I said I had alot of money transaction last year. An example of what I'm talking about is I go out to eat for dinner at the 99 I spend $20 with the tip, in next week I pay off that charge in full meaning instead of Spending 20 my app says I spent $40.
