Line Item Categorization (itemize receipt)
Be able to take a receipt like Wal Mart, whose purchases can fall into multiple categories like grocery and pet, and assign categories to each line item. The current workaround is to use the βSplitβ button to split the expense into multiple expenses and select their categories accordingly. Ideally: 1. Function to apply a different category to each line item on a receipt, while keeping them linked together 1. Strongly mention when a scanned receipt potentially has multiple categories, allowing user to split if needed 2. Note if that item is taxable and at what percent. Make it so we can also track how much we spend on tax. The receipt total might reflect a combination of taxable and non taxable items. 3. Select line items to total the expense (i.e., only extract business line items) keywords: line item catagorization, item line categorization
Export transactions sorted by category then date
For all types of reports, be able to: - Export expenses or transactions with selected categories - Export itemized expenses grouped by category (i.e., sort by category) - see expenses in a report or summary, not each category by itself but all categories together (i.e., select all categories). Currently, the workaround for reports by category is to create a report in the "Reports" tab > tap the "Transactions" tab > tap the category filter (under the search bar) to filter expenses by category > tap the month (above the expenses) to bulk select them > tap "Actions" (bottom right) > "Add to report". Or export a CSV of expenses and sort them by category. tags: export category, expense category, export by category, export categories
Input a negative total as a refund (instead of using refund button)
Currently, users can add a refund/return by pressing the "Refund" button after saving and viewing an expense. Being able to input a negative total or value will make inputting refunds/returns faster.
Automatically back up data to Google Drive or Dropbox
Automatically back up your Easy Expense data (receipts and transactions) by syncing with a Google Drive or other cloud-based platform. Although Easy Expense already stores your data on its cloud servers, this feature request allows users to keep a backup of their own data automatically. tags: backup data; save data
Option to automatically save scanned receipt(s) directly to device
Please add an option to automatically save each scanned receipt directly to the photo album or camera roll. This lets users skip the exporting step, allowing them to manage/organize the saved receipt images on their phone. Example feature flow: Scan a receipt > Save the expense > Scanned receipt image is automatically saved to device > Continue scanning or adjusting expense details.
Make the automatic Receipt Crop start with whole scan
At the moment, the βCropβ page for receipt photos chosen from my phoneβs photo gallery tries to identify a section of the receipt (never works). I always have to manually adjust it to take in the whole picture. Whole picture selection should be the starting point for the crop option. -- The option should also apply to scanning and capturing receipts in general keywords: full screen crop, manual cropping
Add Dark Mode Theme
add dark mode ,my eyes pain with white interface Please add dark theme to the app so I can use it flawlessly
Automatically calculate tax based off total amount
Calculate the tax field based on the total amount (instead of scanning for the tax field) Have an option to select the tax amount on a captured receipt and then once selected, it will auto calculate. keywords: auto tax, automatic tax, sales tax, auto calc, calculate tax
"Select All" button (bulk select action)
A way to select all the visible expenses and manage them (i.e., bulk actions) Should be able to apply to the "Transactions" tab and "Transactions" review Use cases Select all expenses with a certain filter applied Search for a certain keyword/amount, and then select all the expenses Delete unwanted bank transactions in review keywords: expenses action, pick all, choose all

Email Receipt Forwarding
Email receipt forwarding is ready! Guide: https://easyexpense.document360.io/docs/email-receipt-forwarding Forward your emails to receipts@upload.xpns.in Things we still need to do: - Add the scanning feature - Add a better user interface
Add line or field for Tips/Gratuity
The scan receipt works great for restaurant receipts, but it only captures the printed values and forces me to edit in order to add the tip. Can you add a tip line item. Would be nice to see in reports later too. ----- You can also write off tips to cabbies, valets, maids and other non-meal related people as travel expenses. Keeping track of these values is important. --- Ideally: Make the "Total" field calculated as the sum of "Purchase", "Tax", and "Tip" -- rather than direct entry. Track total tip amount in report summary

Multiple Tax Fields (GST/HST/PST, VAT)
Guide: https://help.easy-expense.com/articles/9447018-enabling-tax-rates Have the option to add more tax fields for locations that deal with multiple or different taxes. (e.g., Quebec, Canada) GST/HST/PST VAT Be able to track multiple tax fields for Canada. Ideally, also add the scanning capability for them.
Automated Mileage Tracking
Use phones GPS to automatically track trips.
Sort vendors or categories list
Ideal sort options: Alphabetical order Last created first Most used Adaptive reordering Adaptive reordering in classifications/categories or with a search function. The last used category and/or frequently used number of categories could be learned after a few transactions and moved to the top of the selection list accordingly keywords: alphabetize, arrange, sorting
Upload PDF files from the website
Re-implement the "Crop" button
Manual cropping had to be temporarily removed/disabled due to an incompatibility issue. Re-implementation is in progress. Auto crop function still works, but may not be reliable as manual cropping with the grab bars.
Taking off things not useful to you
I think u should be able to take things off the list that u don't use. It's a pain to have to go thru a lengthy list when u don't use half of it.
